Advantages And Disadvantages of Biomass

Some of the points on Advantages and Disadvantages of Biomass are discussed below. So let us check it out some of the advantages and disadvantages to know more about biomass.

Some Advantages of Biomass are:

  1. Biomass energy is abundant and renewable source of energy.
  2. Biomass is obtained from plants , animals waste and waste products of orgainc matter.
  3. No pollution is caused by using biomass energy.
  4. Carbon dioxide is producted when biomass fuel is used , which is taken up by plants.
  5. Producion cost of biomass is less compared to other source of energy. Hence it is cheaper and reliable source of energy.
  6. Growing biomass crops gives us oxygen and use up the carbon dioxide.
  7. More heat is produced from biomass compared to heat produced from wood.

Some Disadvantages of Biomass are:

  1. More space is required for construction of biomass plant.
  2. Initial cost for construcion of biomass plant is more.
  3. Dirty smell is produced in the surrounding areas of biomass planat.
  4. Continuous supply of organic waste from plants, animals or other organic matter is required to run biomass plant.
  5. Transportation of biomass gas is difficult through pipes and the storage of biomass gas in cylinders is also not easy.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Solar Energy

Some of the Advantages and Disadvantages of Solar Energy are as follows. So let us check it out information on advantages and disadvantages to know more about solar energy

What is solar energy?

The light and the heat from the sun is converted into electricity with the help of photovoltaic cells or solar panels. Solar energy is one of the fastest growing and environmentally friendly and sustainable trend in renewable energy.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Organic Farming

Advantages and Disadvantages of organic farming are as follows. So let us check it out some pros and cons of organic farming to know more about it. Organic Farming is the type of Agriculture in which methods or techniques such as crop rotation, green manure, compost and biological pest control are used. This type of agriculture uses organic materials to improve the health of soil and crops.

How Recycling Saves Energy?

When we manufacture new products from virgin materials, more energy is consumed. Other natural resources such as fossil fuels (Oil , Petroleum, Natural gas, Coal) are also used during manufacturing of products. But when we make products out of recycled materials we can reduce the use of energy sources. The steps in the process of manufacturing of recycled product is reduced which helps to save energy. Find out more about advantages and disadvantages of recycling.

Application and Importance of Nuclear Energy in Agriculture

Application and Importance of Nuclear Energy in Agriculture. They are used for many purposes among them in agriculture also this energy is used. It improves the shelf life of the foods which are processed. The electricity which can be generated with the help of nuclear energy can be used for agriculture. It also improves nutritional value of some of the crops. Disease resistance crops such as onions, tomatoes, rice etc can be produced with the help of nuclear energy. Through radiation it improves the production of rice.

Biodegradable polymers

Biodegradable polymes are having wide range of applications in different fileds such as pharmacy, medicine , dermatology etc

.Let us check it out some of the biodegradable polymers.

Polymers obtained from biomass products are knows as  agropolymers such as polysaccharides, proteins, starch, ligno cellulose products etc.

Polymers obtained from microorganisms by extraction such as PolyHydroxy Alkanoats (PHA) .
