Advantages of Organic Fertilizers are:

  3. The cost of production of organic fertilizers is very less as it can be prepared locally and easily.
  4. Organic fertilizers is easy to prepare in garden or a farm.
  5. Organic fertilizers reduces erosion and the food produced are non toxic.
  6. Slow release of organic fertilizers makes them available for longer time.
  7. Organic fertliizers are source of many essential elements.
  8. Organic fertilizers do not easily leached from the soil hence slow release of nutrients.
  9. Recycle food production waste.

Disadvantages of Organic Fertilizers are:

  1. Slow release of organic fertilizer may not supply plant’s immediate needs.
  2. The concentration of organic fertilizer sometimes may be too low to supply plant’s needs.
  3. Organic fertilizers can be more expensive to purchase than the synthetic fertilizer.
  4. The nutrient level may vary the type of material used.
  5. In order to provide proper nutrients, large amout of organic fertilizers are required.
  6. High demand and low supply of organic fertilizer
  7. The method of organic fertilizers is simple but messy and inconvient
  8. Possible nitrogen depletion is one of the drawback of organic fertilizer.
